Matthew Beynon

I went to school at Olchfa Comprehensive where I gained two GCSE’s in Maths and D&T resistant materials. I stayed on in school to attend sixth form and achieved NVQ’s in Business and Leisure and Tourism.

I was referred to the CADCentre by Swansea Careers. When I arrived I lacked confidence and motivation and it took a while to settle into the centre. After a few weeks of studying and help from the staff at the CADCentre, I started to show more confidence and concentrated on my work.

When it was time for me to attend work experience I was reluctant to leave the training centre to travel to my work placement at IT Asset Disposal.

After a week at IT Asset Disposal they said that I showed significant signs of improvement with my motivation and that I was enjoying the placement and also The CADCentre was getting excellent feedback from them. When I completed my work experience I came back to the centre with more confidence and my motivational issues had improved dramatically.

Since leaving the CADCentre I have been employed by IT Asset Disposal as a part time technician and I am enjoying my new found career. I am hoping to be employed full time after my short probationary period.

“Matthew lacked motivation, confidence and was hesitant about going on work experience placement, but after a bit a preparation and support from the staff at the CADCentre Matthew gained confidence and attended a work placement with IT Asset Disposal. After a short period on placement Matthew’s attitude changed and he became motivated and confident. Shortly after finishing his NVQ Matthew was employed with IT Asset Disposal”. Lyndon Sayers

In March 2006 Lyndon Sayers was referred to The CADCentre (UK) Ltd by Panasonic in order to pursue a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship Level Two for IT Users course.

“I had been working for Panasonic for 17 years and had been feeling that I needed to improve my computer skills so that I was more up to date with current systems and programs. “

“Having no formal IT experience before this course I felt I needed professional tutoring to gain the skills that I needed rather than simply learning it myself as I had been doing.” During his Foundation Modern Apprenticeship, Lyndon was shown valuable skills not only related to his NVQ but to assist him in his work and in line with KPI’ s used by his company. Following this, Lyndon progressed to the Modern Apprenticeship scheme where he improved upon his knowledge and use of IT. This was a fantastic learning experience for Lyndon allowing him to strengthen his skills and employability. “After achieving the Level 2 part of my course I found that I was enjoying using the new skills that I had learned and decided that I wanted to continue on to the next level of the course. My apetite for learning was whetted in completing the level three and I am now looking to further my education by enrolling on a degree course in IT”
Lyndon Sayers 18th June 2009

“PCC (UK) Ltd is encouraged and pleased with Lyndon’s development and progression throughout the course. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.” Steve Allen, Manager, Panasonic Newport Lyndon is currently in the process of redundancy from his position with Panasonic but as a result of the skills gained in the Modern Apprenticeship is pursuing a place in University to study for a degree in Computer Science. “The staff and myself are delighted by Lyndon’s success. He has worked extremely hard and deserves this great opportunity. We are very fortunate that we have such dedicated assessors that work hard to ensure the learners achieve their goals.”
